Ian has been at sea since joining the Merchant Navy as a Radio Officer in 1980. He joined his first yacht in 1986 as Chief Radio Officer and progressed to Deck Officer/Captain serving on some of the world's largest yachts. Since 1996 Ian has worked on various new builds mainly in North Germany.
